Podiatry Gift Guide 2024
With the holidays right around the corner and winter weather making an appearance in Northern Michigan already, foot-related holiday gifts for 2024 could be a fantastic idea for rounding out your gift-giving haul. We have gathered some of our favorite products and ideas for that special someone on your list
- A durable trail shoe – Most athletic shoe companies make trail running shoes. We find these to be fantastic for sloppy or icy parking lots that we all encounter when running errands in the winter. These shoes typically have softer rubber outsoles with deeper gripping lugs. This makes them great for preventing falls on icy terrain. Additionally, most of these shoes will have some sort of waterproofing material on the upper, making them great for not just winter weather, but also hiking all year round.
- NANOspikes – These are great options for when it is very icy outside. These tungsten carbide spikes that strap-on over the shoe, are the ultimate anti-slip device for shoes, providing unmatched traction.
- Warm wool socks – Whether you just want to feel cozy or are looking to prevent cold-exposure foot injuries, a high-quality wool sock can make a fun stocking-stuffer. There are many brands out there producing wool socks in varying thickness for different warmth levels or activity.
- Heated Inserts – These are great for prolonged activities in cold weather, providing warmth to your foot without being too bulky in your shoe or boot. These can last for hours and are rechargeable.
- A Luxurious Foot Cream – Spoil your loved ones with a foot cream that will leave their skin feeling silky smooth
- A Spa-Like Foot Soak – Give the gift of a spa-like foot soak right at home. This highly-rated Epsom salt and essential oil product can help with everything from calluses, dry skin, and mild aches and pains. Combine with a bubbling foot bath for best results
- Battery Powered Callus Remover – These are great for stubborn calluses and really takes the elbow-grease out of the equation compared to using a pumice stone. We recommend soaking the feet for at least 10 minutes beforehand.
- Light Up Vest – Whether it’s for a quick dog walk or an after work run, these lightweight, durable light up vests offer amazing visibility during the darkest months of the year.
- Cozy Slippers – Nothing beats cozying up next to a warm fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and warm slippers on your feet.
- Massage Ball/Roller – Take away the ache from being on your feet all day with a foot massage. These are great for runners, walkers, or people who stand all day at their job.
11. Slant Board – Many foot aches and pains are secondary to tight calf musculature. These stretch boards are designed to help improve the flexibility of the calf/achilles tendon and alleviate discomfort.
